Real Story Of The Grand Prive Casino Group

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Real Casino StoryThe Grand Prive is still a hot topic in the casino industry. There have been enough ridicule and sarcasm revolving the issue. The online casino group (Grand Prive Casino Group) was launched in the year 2002 and within a short time span they have included the Bella Vegas, Jupiter Club, Grand Bay, Lake Palace Casino etc. Eventually after being associated with some branded online casinos, they soon claimed that Grand Prive Casino is the most exclusive online casino club found over the web.

To reinforce their existence over the web, they started alluring players with the free money slogan. In the year 2007, the Grand Prive Affiliates were launched and soon they began claiming “The biggest and best Casino Affiliate Program in the online gaming industry”. As a consequence they required to recruit some webmasters. And they again set a message for the webmasters that “…. we understand, better than anyone, the difficulties and rewards associated with earning an income based on commission as an affiliate.” Moving forward with this thought they promised the webmasters some additional offerings. According to these offerings, every referral would lead to a flat 35% commission to the webmasters.

At that point of time the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) gambling act was passed and imposed on the entire gambling industry, which made the payment processing more difficult and complicated. Simultaneously, the economic downfall aggravated the situation further. As a consequence, most online and terrestrial casinos both were pushed out of the business.

Grand Prive Casino Group too was supposed to go out of business. But instead of closing down the business they preferred to close their famous Affiliate Program. But the casino was still receiving deposits and made good profits from the referred players by the webmasters according to the lifetime commission program. So they were upholding their casino brands with their regular business and received good revenue.

To make the situation worse, when the casino industry was trying to settle down the matter, Grand Prive Casino refused to cooperate and instead issued a statement stating that whatever they did was within their legal boundaries.

Grand Prive then was cornered by both the audience and other online casinos in the gambling industry. It seemed that they were not at all accepted as a part of the online casino industry. As a result the casino suffered tremendously with the legal issues and other external influences.

The “e-Commerce Online Gambling Regulation and Assurance” (eCOGRA) took up the case and is in the process of investigation. But people are still skeptical about this matter because eCOGRA (eCOGRA was partially established and funded by Microgaming) is tied up with the Microgaming software company which is on the other hand tied up with Grand Prive.

Squabble over legitimizing online gambling

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Though many members of the Senate and the House of Representatives have vociferously spoken against the legitimization of online gambling in USA, there have been many others who are of the opinion that technologies can be used to improve as well as legitimize internet gambling.

Barney Frank, member of the House of Representative have been supporting the idea of legalization of internet gambling. Since 1999 the introduction of the bill of Internet Gambling Prohibition and Enforcement Act which had been out voted several times by the house was vehemently opposed by Barney Frank in 2006. A moratorium was sought by him and Ron Paul to withhold the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement. On the other hand he brought in the bill in 2007, the H.R. 2046; the Internet Gambling Prohibition and Enforcement Act which would seek age verification to protect compulsive gamblers. It would have also made sure the licensing of online gambling sites.

One of the main criteria of the UIGEA is that no financial institution is allowed to transfer funds to any illegal internet gambling site. This prohibition would result in financial loss; so many bankers seek to delay the implementation of the Act.

Executive Chairman of Youbet.com, an online wagering company, Michael Brodsky was of the opinion that there are technologies that can prevent the unlawful online gambling as well as regulate the gambling industry. That would prevent the off shore gaming from flourishing and create more jobs for the American market and draw more revenues. It is important to use the technology to upgrade the security system and stop the government and the law makers from exercising moral policing and deciding on the people’s behalf where to spend their own money.
